OPTO-MECHANICAL DESIGN SOURCING // HOW WE WORK
From supporting your initial design sketches to raytracing, and from IES-to CAD file generation, we are supporting you on your total development process, and beyond.
1. Project Intake
This first phase is all about understanding your needs and getting introduced. Ideally you have a brief description available to explain your concept in more detail. Or you have solution ideas present that you like to discuss or evaluate. A first assessment will be done, providing you with an future outlook on the project!
2. Feasibility Study
The various technical solutions and options we have available to address your demands are evaluated. In cases that requirements cannot fully be defined, the feasibility phase will be used to identify the exact requirements. Suggested solutions for the concept design, including budget estimates, will emerge from this phase.
3. Raytracing
The output of the Feasibility Study is the foundation for further visualization. It may include a raytrace of the intended functionality and the generation of an .IES file containing all the light characteristics for use in light simulation software such as Dialux or Relux, or even a combination of both.
4. Conceptual Design
We were able to satisfy you and/or your cusomer and move on to digitally design your parts. The resulting outcome is a digital Computed Aided File (CAD), that serves as input for the additive fabrication process.
5. Rapid Prototyping
We have received your ‘’GO’’ for the design and engineering work and we will define, purchase and protoype the components that will constitute the module with advanced additive fabrication and/or smart molding technologies.
6. Additive Fabrication
The prototype is validated and we arrange your pre-series production. Afterwards, either the full concept is carried over to a partner of your choice, of we select an appropriate sourcing partner for large volume manufacturing of parts.
OUR DESIGN PARTNERS
Welcome to our Design Hub!
In this section you find a selection of our best partners to cooperate with. Any of them has a deep background in their respective industries, ranging from General Lighting to Aviation, and from Automotive Lighting to Machine Vision and beyond.
WHY DESIGN WITH US?
All our design partners are accredited to work according the latest additive fabrication specifications to ensure a smooth processing from part design to manufacture. Our periodical face-to-face meetings, online training and webinars ensure their knowledge and skills stay well-aligned with the evolving Additive Fabrication capabilities.
Any of the individual design a partners or design collectives brings at least 10 years of opto-mechanical design experience to the table, what is critical to deeply understand our customers wants and needs. Also, they are well aware of the rules & legislations in their respective industries to ensure a safe continuation of the development and application.
